Ireland Carpet Tile Price Guide (2026)

If you're pricing a floor in Ireland this year, carpet tiles can cost anywhere from a couple of euro to well over €50 per square metre. The gap comes down to one question: are you buying retail, brand-new commercial stock, or reclaimed tiles?

This guide sets out what each option costs per square metre, what else you need to budget for, and how to work out the total for your space.

Carpet tile prices in Ireland at a glance

OptionTypical price per m²Best for
Retail carpet tiles€24–€40/m²Buyers who want to pick off the shelf

C-grade used tilesFrom €1.60/m²Sheds, workshops, storage, underlay layers

All of our prices are per square metre. Roughly 4 tiles (50 × 50 cm) cover 1 m².

Retail carpet tiles: €24–€40/m²

Commercial-grade carpet tiles bought through standard retail or specification channels start from around €24/m² and usually run up to €40/m². You're paying for the brand, the showroom and the supply chain as much as the tile itself.

For a high-spec install where every tile must match a design scheme exactly, that can make sense. For most projects, it's the most expensive way to get the same kind of floor.

New nylon carpet tiles: €11–€14/m²

We've gathered brand-new, unused clearance stock from commercial brands such as Burmatex, Zetex, Shaw Contract and Christy Carpets, so customers can save on new flooring. It's bought in matching lots — from around 100 m² up to 1,000 m² per colour — so a whole project can be laid in one uniform colour, not pieced together from odds and ends. The tiles are nylon, the same material used by top commercial brands, with similar specs, at €11–€14/m².

Choose new when:

  • You want a brand-new, uniform finish.
  • You need a larger quantity in one colour.
  • The tiles are going into a home, where a fresh surface matters.

Exact specs vary by lot, so tell us what the space is for and we'll confirm what's in stock.

Used carpet tiles: €5–€8/m²

Our used tiles are reclaimed from commercial buildings — mostly Interface — and graded A to C so you know what you're getting. Grade A is the cleanest, lightest-worn stock. Grade B is worn and suits film sets, events, temporary flooring and some offices, but isn't for home use. C grade starts from €1.60/m² for sheds, workshops and storage spaces.

Used tiles make sense when:

  • Budget comes first.
  • You're fitting an office, studio, rental or commercial unit.
  • You want to keep good flooring out of landfill.

What a project actually costs

The tiles are only part of the budget. Plan for these as well:

  • Adhesive. Carpet tiles are usually laid with a tackifier (a light, releasable adhesive) rather than permanent glue, so individual tiles can be lifted and replaced later. Budget roughly €50–€100 of tackifier per 100 m².
  • Fitting. Many people lay carpet tiles themselves, as they're simple to cut and place. For large or commercial areas, a fitter's labour is usually priced per m², so get a quote for your exact space.
  • Floor preparation. An uneven or damaged subfloor may need levelling before laying.
  • Spares. Order a few percent extra to allow for cuts around edges and doorways, and to keep spare tiles for future repairs.
  • Delivery or collection. You can collect from Saggart, Dublin, or ask us about delivery.

Example: a 100 m² office

Using tile prices only:

OptionPrice per m²100 m² total
Retail€24–€40€2,400–€4,000
New nylon (ours)€11–€14€1,100–€1,400
Used (ours)€5–€8€500–€800

Adhesive, fitting and preparation cost roughly the same whichever tile you choose, so the saving on the tiles themselves goes straight back into your budget.

FAQ

How much are carpet tiles per square metre in Ireland?

Retail commercial carpet tiles commonly cost €24–€40/m². Our new nylon tiles are €11–€14/m², and our used tiles are €5–€8/m², with C-grade from €1.60/m².

How many carpet tiles do I need per square metre?

Standard 50 × 50 cm tiles take roughly 4 tiles per m². Add a few percent for cuts and spares.

Are cheap carpet tiles worth it?

If they're graded properly and suited to the space, yes. Used commercial tiles often have years of life left, and new nylon stock gives a brand-new finish without retail prices.

Do I need to glue carpet tiles down?

Most carpet tiles are laid with a tackifier, which holds them in place while still letting you lift single tiles later. Check with your fitter for your floor.
